I’ve been married (to my first wife Judy) for over 42 years. We have two adult sons, Jay and Ben. I am a retired manager of Information Services and Judy is a retired pharmacist. The following picture is a recent one taken of our family, including Kiley, the shop dog in the front yard of our home overlooking Puget Sound. Our oldest son, Jay, in the sunglasses, works for Holland America, Seattle, in their Information Systems area and our youngest son, Ben, has his own insurance business in Everett.

I learned my love of woodworking while in high school where I had four years of shop classes. After leaving high school, obtaining three college degrees including an MBA, marrying Judy, having a family, and then moving them around the world for several years, woodworking became less a hobby and more of necessity as the family grew and work ensued on remodeling and/or building a succession of houses for the family. Finally after completing a vacation home on the Olympic Peninsula, and with no where to put my collection of wood working tools, we bought property in Olympia and had a shop built in 2001. Then in the Spring of 2003 when we sold our home in Issaquah, near Seattle, Judy and I lived in the shop while our house was completed in June 2003.
